Sketching
Journal Entry: Wed Mar 5, 2008, 10:47 AM
I just realised that I've been working so much on a graphics tablet that I hardly do any sketching anymore. So last night I did some biro sketches and my ideas are a lot better when drawn up on paper. I think it's because you arn't trying to create the final piece, just sketch out the ideas. Also you can make a mistake and then you'll try to correct it, eventually this will lead to your idea being completely different from what it was origionally. I just felt it was so much easier to look at pictures on my computer while drawing in my sketch book. And also it's a much looser way of drawing. I'll scan in some of the work I've done soon. What do you guys think then? Should you draw directly onto a tablet? Or sketch out your ideas first?
